Wow, I just listened to In the Air Tonight and this song back to back. It's even in the same KEY--what were they thinking??? If VH3 had actually sold well, Phil would've definitely sued. He probably didn't even know about the album, as this was the most poorly-received VH record in history.

It doesn't matter for me how it sounds, it's a great song and the whole album is a real VH album full of power and creativity. As I read the comments I can agree: it's intellectual music or intelligent music. I love it. :)

This song give goosebumps. VH3. Im glad it exists. It lets me know that Van Halen is still impressive outside of its comfort zone. Gary Cherone is an impressive vocalist.

This is one of my favorites from this CD.. I like 3 or 4 songs off of VH III. I would have liked more of them had the production been better!I recently found the unrealeased video for this song here on youtube and I must say that the vocals do sound a lot better on that version..(searh for: Van Halen III - Once - Official Unreleased / Unfinished Music Video) I wish they would have done them like that on the whole CD!

stop playing "devil's advocate" for this record just because Eddie tried something new, this album is as bad as Roth's last solo album, when you sale Apple Juice you don't change the flavor to orange and sale it as apple juice just because you call it so, your costumers might notice the flavor. Eddie should have done a solo project, still used some Van Helen members as guests but still use some different cameos from other musicians, Sammy got lucky cause by then Eddie was still into apples.
