Another unreleased tune, folks! Well, unreleased to the US that is (not counting the "Can't Stop Lovin' You" Single)... This song is a Japan Bonus Track on the Imported Balance CD if you can get your hands on one. In my opinion this is the coolest, darkest song they've ever written together. It originated in 1983 after one of Eddie's friends committed suicide and Ed needed to vent his feelings. Then after a few years of sitting on a shelf in 5150, they recycled this into a song about Ed Leffler who had just passed before the making of this album. If you listen closely in the second verse of the song, you can hear Eddie singing the original verses, since they never really got rid of the original track, just dubbed over it.

From Wikipedia:

The song was originally written and recorded by Eddie in 1983, shortly after one of his friends had committed suicide. The song was given a chance at rebirth after the untimely death of their manager, Ed Leffler, ten years after the track was originally recorded. On the left channel, played Eddie's music from 1983 on electronic drums; on the right channel, played the reworked song with guitar, bass, drums, and vocals.

I DO NOT OWN THE PICTURE OR SONG USED IN THIS VIDEO.

Yup. 2 different bands. Balance is my favorite VH album. Front to back, it is better than all the others. I love Sammy too, so that adds a few points for me.

ive heard so much about the cover of this album..its known for a fact that the child seated looking directly at you is Wolfgang Van Halen...however, theres many myths as to if the screaming child is a boy or girl. ...some say its just another pic of Wolfie...other's say its one of the other bandmember's daughter. ...it looks like a girl to me, and looks nothing like the first child: Wolfie

@OrcuttJoel Noted and put into the info pane. I would have loved to own this piece of music instead of getting the bootleg. I hope you still own your copy.

This song was released in the US, just not on a complete album. It was on the B-side of Can't Stop Loving You. I bought it on tape when it first came out. Shame you can't get it anywhere accessible now.

I paid $60 for the Japanese pressing of the CD, just for this one track... And I still consider it a bargain. I'd pay $60 again in a heartbeat for this tune. I love Dave, but let no one say Sammy didn't have his moments with this band. This song is amazing anyway you slice you it.

@daledeem68 You may not like him but he doesn't really suck, man. LOL! One thing is at least he's not sitting around doing nothing like the brothers and DLR are...putting out a CD, not putting one out, etc. Look at all the wasted time they used when they could've been putting out music?? The funny thing is I think had DLR stayed with the band, and no Sammy in the picture, they wouldn't have been as good...Roth had LSD (Lead Singers Disease) and would have surely tore the band apart.

@daledeem68. You need to go back to the uninformed place where you thought of that comment. Hagar has written music very successfully for almost 40 years now. He knows more about musical success than you or I ever will. To say anything less is just foolish.
