Been giving this VH3 stuff a chance (after refusing to give it the time of day back then) and you know what, some of this stuff is actually VERY GOOD. This song, From Afar, Fire in the Hole, Josephina - great stuff. Also, the sound on the cassette (sounds weird I know) actually has a better sound - anybody have opinions on this?Also people, this song is just a demo. 10 years ago

Sorry I don't think its far superior to Josephina, but wished Cherone hadn't written or sang it, but guitar wise.....awesome! Check out the duet of it in Japan with just Eddie and Gary.....great version. Fire in the hole was a great tune, and I wished they had put that ending on another tune! He always does stuff and sounds like no other ever will. Always imitated and never duplicated Eddie Van Halen!10 years ago

I gotta agree with Mitch Malloy's version and voice being so much better! I love Van Halen in all incarnations, but Gary Cherone was the least liked member ever, and his stage presence was awful. The album VH3 had some great guitar work on it, and has a couple of solos I'd put in his upper more well done solos. This song would have been better than a few on that album, but if Malloy was in the band the album might have faired better.....just my opinion.10 years ago

Thank you,i tired of the majority saying its the worst CD ever..ED`s my main man...There was some really neat Guitar Tones on this CD that I reguard as special...the clean stuff..And "Fire in the hole"forgetta bout IT !! that our man and the magic he can bring...I dare any one to try and cover some of that guitar work"Its frickn tuff"not too mention getting those tones. you got it right blurting out words,here & there on this one..11 years ago

Well we all know who was drinking when they made this song. I mean you have to be drunk as hell if you thought not only this song or the whole rest of VHIII sounded good. Poor Edward. This song has that III sound for sure. The band sounds ok, but, as is the case with most of the album, Gary just doesn't mesh well. It almost sounds like he's singing a different song.11 years ago
