I love how Porl has to pick up the slack for Lol on the keyboards. I don't even think Lol's keyboard is plugged in. I also love how the camera stays on robert most of the time and doesn't jump around

I LOVE Robert, but he is purposely messing up the lyrics here. I know he is known to do that, but I love bannafishbones. Read J.D Salinger "A Perfect Day for Bannafish"

@TheNiteNite Yeah that was my guess too I'm like... CLAP bastards, that song is the shit. But probably it was a new song in that time, and yes the lyrics are kind of diferent

Was this concert before The Top was released? No one claps when the song is announced +plus the lyrics are not quite hammered out yet? Tx.

This song is so amazing! All twisted and self loathing. I just started to listen to it today and I'm actually working on a painting inspired by it right now!

The only Cure album I REALLY don't care for is Wild Mood Swings. All the others I like in varying degrees, usually with the first 5-6 albums being my favorites. After The Top, Disintegration is the one I like most, followed by KMKMKM. Geez, I been a fan of this band since 1984. lol

I agree. I think alot of Cure fans are kinda inlove with the "Goth" (damn i hate that word) side of The Cure, and they just dismiss The Top as it's so psychedelic and experimental. Personally, i love it. It's like nothing else. I actually like the stuff Smith put out in the mid 80's, when he was more or less alone. Top/Whispers and it's B-Sides. This was the worst time in Smiths life, and reading between the lines you can see it. There's some heavy stuff in there, but amazing music. =)

I don't understand why The Top is such a maligned record. I think it's brilliant, and one of my favorites. I mean-Bananafishbones, Piggy In The Mirror, The Top, Wailing Wall, Empty World-how can a true Cure fan dislike those?

Robert Smith has said in many interviews that Lol's playing was nice because it limited him. He had to work around that. He was nothing special.
