Andy Anderson was an amazing drummer !! He drummed with absolute accuracy and precision and was fast as fuck !! 1984 was a odd year for The Cure . But this line up was definitely the catalyst of The Cure playing harder and faster live shows at that time than ever before.... This was totally due to drummer Andy Anderson and bass player Phil Thornally and of course Porl Thompson... ! This line up should get more credit from cure fans.

fantastic, I love Cure and Robert Smith in this period

Robert Smith has since admitted that "Primary" was a salute to Ian Curtiss and the use of twin bass guitars was to emulate the sound of Joy Division.

1980s Cure is one of the only bands that makes dark, depressing music (which usually sounds sappy/whiny) sound fucking cool. there is some mysterious bad ass quality to their music that can't be found anywhere else.this whole concert is amazing btw.

Porl played the Fender Bass VI in "Primary" and "Push" from the Orange concert, as well as a concert MTV recorded in Leipzig.

Porl plays VI on In Orange... and the VI is a six-string bass, not a baritone. Baritones are generally 28" scale tuned A to A or B to B, the Fender Bass VI was similar to the tic-tac Six String Basses put out by Danelectro, tuned E to E on a 30" scale... I've played multiple original ones as well as the Japanese reissue, I've played a Danelectro Longhorn style one made by Jerry Jones, both a real Music Man Silouhette as well as the OLP copy, and finally a Hellcat VI...

@ajittffcure it's a bariton guitar I think not a bass but it looks huge in his arms
