How was Berry stupid? With Diana at lead, they had 10 number on hits. They were the biggest girl group ever! I don't get it. People talk as if The Supremes didn't make it. They were superstars period. You can't get bigger than that.

I like Florence's voice better than Diana's. In my opinion this is the best song on her album. That's not Flo's fault. The arrangements are not aligned with her vocal skills and I believe being pregnant during the recording sessions caused her to hold back so the song lacks that PUNCH needed to carry it over the top.

Wrong song, wrong arrangement... they really gave her a raw deal. Were they really that surprised that this stuff tanked. She should have fired ABC Records not the opposite. A blind, deaf monkey would have been a better Producer because he wouldn't have let this crud out of the studio.. Sorry..just being honest..

InvictaDesta: yes, upon finally hearing Flo's voice and the material on her fateful first LP, I feel too pop wasn't her forte. One thing of note, her voice was way too sweet to have sung some those sad Supreme songs ... can't imagine her doing "My World is Empty Without You". If she had been on her own trying to market herself with any other company back then I just have a feeling it wouldn't have happened for Flo. I am sorry she wasn't able to ride the Supremes gravy train longer.

Gordy absolutely destroyed Florence Ballard kicking her out was bad enough as she was a founding member but not allowing her to use the ex Supreme name to advance her career was criminal. i adore all the Supremes and their voices and won't say that was was best as they made the best all female group of all time. All 3 girls tried so hard to start their career and finally it took off but Gordy had to destroy the group

I'm an avid Supreme fan and though i love Flo Ballard very much these dreadful songs from her cd did nothing for her voice. She sounds like an amatuer singer. The Flo I fell in love with were those songs she sang at Motown where her voice was booming. A talent missed.

Florence Ballard, like Mary Wilson was overlooked by Motown moguls. This woman had a better voice than Diana Ross. Just seems that she had some real justified compliants the more I learn it is apparent that Motown never really wanted a Supremes group; just Diana Ross and the Supremes with step children status.
