Great album & great band Gary put together. So underrated at the time. Most of Gary's guitars were recorded through a Pignose practice amp straight into the mixing desk.

Ah damn it's so sloppy how awful I better insert this gigantic stick back into my ass and go listen to only shred metal. I'm so good at the guitar I comment on things I couldn't touch to make myself feel better.

Thanks for the comment. I saw Bill Nelson on a DVD recently, and he was awesome. John McLaughlin I've only heard on his Santana collaboration, but, again, great talent. (Playing next to Carlos Santana must be challenging, as he's brilliant.)

I don't disagree, I just think that you've overlooked 2 Yorkshiremen that were equally as adept: John McLaughlin & Bill Nelson (not necessarily in that order :-)

He was just made to play guitar! In 1980, Moore, Schenker and EVH were the guitarists of the day. (Close second - Tonka Chapman.)

OMG Gary Moore and Whitesnake. Also, Moore is by far the best blues rock guitarist to come out Ireland, and is one the best that's come out of the world.

Eddie once stated in an interview that he used 12-15 marshall stacks live. Gary had evidently read this, as when HE was asked in a later interview he claimed to use 16! It's just a bit of fun...

@roneelynn1 Well, i think, the studio version of "White Knuckles" was originally a "little warm up" for Gary Moore back in the 70's. Check out two different live versions (which are much better than the studio version): watch?v=hB0IKLVimz0&feature=relmfu (please read my comment there) and watch?v=MqrqO-i8Q8c&feature=related

I saw the band live in 1980, supporting Whitesnake (equal billing in my eyes), and I swear Gary played White Knuckles as fast and as accurately live as on the record. Frighteningly talented.
