The structure of this song hasn't been forgotten. Very generous. And the bass makes a nice touch. Harmonies are WOW! Songs were always the same. A lonely bass, then a mass of other slamming instruments take over. Lovely times. Nothing's missed.

My older sister had this on a compilation album! I think it was one of those from K-Tel, like "20 Explosive Hits" or something like that. I think it also had on it "Ma Belle Amie" by the Tee Set and "Grazing in the Grass" by Hugh Masakela? Been DECADES since I last saw that LP!

Uhm, that drummer isn't even trying to sync with the music. What's with the Native gear?

This is the very first song I ever bought on 45. I loved it and still do :)

That is not Ron Dante in the video. These guys are lip syncing to the original recording, which consisted of Ron Dante's overdubbed voice accompanied by studio musicians. Listen to the Archies--the lead singer is the same--Ron Dante--with Toni Wine doing the female vocals, and again, studio musicians. It was the era of studio groups, which produced some great music. The real Ron Dante can be seen in a video on YT where he appeared on David Letterman.

What a great time and a great song. Wish they would make stuff like this again. Carries you to a magical place in time.

A great one-hitter from the Fall of 1969.

In other words, this guy is lip syncing to Ron's vocals.

This is actually Ron Dante singing lead on this. The Cuff Links were just created afterwards to play this live, etc. They weren't a real band. Still fun to see.
