This song was a crossover of sorts from the Tiger Beat bubblegum set into mainstream. Very catchy tune and it showed the tremendous variety of music that was playing back then. All segments were firing on all cylinders in the early 70s. Charlie Rich, Barry White, Elton John, America, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Soul, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, everything was great. Music was an amazing industry with record companies and independent radio stations willing to take chances instead of what we have now.. Today you just want to plug in a CD instead of listening to radio anymore. Your choice is burnt out "classic" radio stations with 10 song playlists or auto tune dance-line selfie crap with zero shelf life.

Yeah , I read that book , what's hilarious the author doesn't even know who's remember correctly or telling the truth or how elusive may people were when he asked to interview them , to explain it in a nutshell , the music business is a very fast business with many people coming in and out of projects , the only way to get truth is to ask God , Ha Ha !!!

According to the article in the book "Bubblegum Music is the Naked Truth", Tony's is the only Defranco voice on the record. But everything is based on people's recollections.

From listening to the song and all the info I read my gut feeling is telling me it's all of them , Ron Hicklin singers & The Defranco Family.

the reason I thought it was them was that to my ear, the backing vocals are very similar, if not identical, to the signature Partridge Family sound. I don't know either, but it would be a heck of a coincidence for the 2 groups to manage to have almost identical sounds for backing, particularly if the Wrecking Crew is known to have worked with both.

I finally found something on the internet with an interview with John Bahler , one of the backing singers for the Ron Hicklin singers and he saids they did sing backup on The Defranco Family but didn't say which songs , this is very tricky ground because even in the interview he mentions that he can't remember everything , but I feel they did sing on the backing tracks but which songs , I don't know.

Your referring to Ron Hicklin Singers or the former singing 60s group The Love Generation and also studio singers for The Partridge Family & The Brady Bunch. At first I thought you might be right with The Defranco Family one since Hal Blane drummer & The wrecking crew were studio musicians and there was a connection there , but after doing a lot searching on the internet , I've seen no refrence to this and my first thought was right which was the actual Defranco Family sang all the vocals.
