Kevin likes full control of his songwriting endeavors and does not like to concede on his ideas. Thus many fights ensued in DT in the early years. KM works well alone although he has stated that writing music makes him mad at times. It is not easy and is not always fun. Yes Kevin Moore is the one singing this song. He sang the original demos to Space DYe Vest and Lie, according to Mike Portnoy it exists. Anyway, DT with Kevin might not exist because Petrucci likes to be in charge. He has assumed full control of his band, which Portnoy was the leader for 25 years.

@dio52 I wonder how DT's sound would be totally different today if Kevin stayed with them... While I like Jordan Rudess very much (Metropolis pt.2 is amazing), Kevin put something incredible in their songs. And Space-Dye Vest and the story behind it is just amazing.
