It's one of the more commonly circulated recordings from a numbers station (look it up on wikipedia) the voice is reading numbers in German. I heard a recording of this exact sample yesterday and knew it sounded familiar for some reason, after I figured it out I started going on a huge Chroma Key kick!

Can someone please please tell me what the kid is saying in the broken radio loop at the beginning and during the song and at the end? I listened to this song a long time ago when I was a kid and I love it. But after years of wracking my brain and looking online I never found out what that kid is saying. Can someone please tell me?

The vocal lines here are eerily similar to some of the melodies in the DT song "Raise the Knife"...which I believe had some snippy Portnoy lyrics directed at Moore...I thought I'd just throw that out there. And if anything, PT were ripping off KM on Even Less!!!

what the hell are you arguing about ? Gavin Harrison from PT is friend with Kevin Moore - no copying there

I presume the the Porcupine Tree use of Number Stations you're speaking of is from 'Even Less', which first appeared on the album Stupid Dream, released in March 1999... The fact that Dead Air for Radio came out in 1998 means that your argument doesn't really add up...

And there is a difference between being part of a fandom and being fan dumb. Kevin Moore is known for sampling. And unless its the same exact sample(not even then) or the rest of the song is any similar to Even Less it really doesnt count. And in that case PT would be in pretty deep shit.

I can understand admiring Porcupine Tree but there is a difference between being influenced by a band and copying it. For goodness sake, the use of the Numbers Stations at the end is beyond an homage to PC but a simpleminded rip-off.
