I must have spent a year of my life listening to "English Settlement", and that I would consider time well spent. I have to say that XTC is probably my favorite band of all time, and I'm lucky to have discovered them. Dave Gregory really makes that dirty Rick sound incredible. Again, with a band like XTC, I do my utmost to keep to the original as much as possible. You can't improve or mess with perfection. Hope you enjoy it.

Absolutely fantastic! Wonderful to hear such a brilliant and professional job - obviously a lot of skill and dedication's gone into this. Superb. Also a fabulous way of showcasing XTC's magic for musical creativity and song structure.

Be my guest if you want to take a crack at them. All I ask is send whatever you put out there my way for a listen. It'll be fun hearing some singing with these tunes. And I'm definitely not a recording engineer; just an interested anorak. I appreciate the compliment.

Put me on the list too, I would love to sing...I can do Moulding and Partridge fairly well. Also...I read in one of your video infos that you are not a recording engineer; if that's true, why do these sound so crazy good? Sgt. Rock is SPOT ON.

Honestly? I have someone in mind to do that already since I am so hideously slow at doing my new stuff. Thanks and I'll keep you in mind in case this other person isn't interested.

You're very kind. Thank you. XTC has a lot of qualities that are admirable to the nth degree. Andy and Colin are both master songsmiths, and Dave G. is the ultimate complimenter of songs despite his undoubtable technical skills on the guitar. Since I stopped being a shredhead, Dave G. is the player I emulate in order to learn that skill. That they are intelligent, thought-provoking and alliterative doesn't mean they don't rock. They most certainly did.

Agreed. XTC is just incredible, and they make it sound so simple. It is definitely not simple. :)

This is enjoyable to listen to because you do such a good job, but also because it captures what XTC fans just love, love, love about XTC -- the sheer joy of song craft, the way music can work when its just done so well. XTC has always been a bit on the cerebral side, a little wonky, and so the hard core rockers have steered clear -- but these instrumentals remind us that they rock. Keep it up. I vote for "Grass" for your next project. All you need is a string section :-)

Thank you, sir. There is supposedly an XTC tribute band in Austin. Don't know if they still play or not. Might be worth a check-out.
