It sounds like it was recorded on a cell phone, which is probably part of the reason why it doesn't sound "great". Also he's not trying to sound like Liam, he's trying to sound like Noel and he's doing a great job at that.11 years ago

@mewert He's not trying to imitate Liam. This is just how Pat (The drummer/ one of the guitarists from Weezer) sings. He sounds the exact same whether he's playing Oasis or on the Special Goodness albums.12 years ago
