This is nothing fancy, Just alotta clips to the short lived Van Halen III. It was just something I put together for a friend. I spent like 20 minutes on it. I was told that the audio was gbetter than he had heard on the boots he owned. I remember getting this one in mp3 form sometime in '02. and it did sound better than on my boots as well. I thougbht I'd share and see what you think.

really didn't like Eddie's tone during this era. It sounds so 90's adult contemporary. that said, the guitars/drums have a hook on this tune, the vocal melody is very much lacking and almost sound lazy.

Thought VH was on top of their game musically with this album... Eddie's tone was the best it had ever been up to that point in my opinion, or really ever since,... it was just so deep, rich and clear. It was some of their best music. I always said that I would have loved to have heard what Sammy could've done with it.

I'm sorry, but although the songs on this album were very musical, and Ed was just shredding his ass off like always, Gary Cherone was,...well...just outclassed. They shoulda kept Sammy.

Each to their own but I have to disagree ; this song is NO masterpiece. It's songs like this that are responsible for their record company at the time rejected the album and Gary subsequently parting ways w VH:-(

I don't care what anyone says D.L.R. is the only fit for Van Halen, but if there had to be anyone else Cherone was best! People should have given him a chance. I would never wanna be in the spot to fill Roth's shoes! That's the only reason why i give Sammy Hagar any credit! The way he trashed the band after he made all that money with them is sickening! What a punk!

And the Song would only sound better finished! Wow, I wonder how many "unfinished" songs Van Halen has laying around? Sammy said they had recorded their "stairway to heaven" song before he left. He said it was the best song they recorded together, and was gonna be Huge? I'd Love to hear that one. Thanks for the video Sphen5150.

Mitch Malloy has a little fragment called "Is the right time" which he recorded with Van Halen that sounds pretty much like this song, talking about the melody itself...

At 2:05....Mike is smiling for the press, but my opinion is that in his mind he's really thinking..."boy, if anyone knew how fucked up things are....". I don't mean Gary in the band, but Eddie's behaviour and probably missing Sammy. VH III certainly got a bad rap, but there are some good moments on this album and many of them better than what's on ADKOT. The production of this album wasn't great imo, and like Gary said in an interview the band never had time to gel, should have did a mini fun tour before even going into the studio. I give him lots of credit for trying, but overall Eddie and manager Ray Daniels conned Gary into this fiasco with no real intent of ever keeping him the long term. Great song here though....
