I love the tune for this version.This is the one most commonly used in the American Episcopal church. Most of the other YT versions have a different melody. I wish the words were clearer.

You are a rare & bold person to say that the organ and singing etc sound in the cathedral suffers from echo and hard surface affects. . The way to get around that is to have more microphones. And to have the device to moderate the sound so that on television etc., the sound sounds the same as how one expects it would, were you there in the building. . Songs Of Praise television show, elsewhere on you-tube, does manage to make cathedrals sound normal-good. The WNC recording crew ought to, too !

I am so glad to find this on You Tube as I do not read music that well. I am working on this song for a snger at church as I mostly play by ear. This songs must be very old as I had neve heard of it? I am playing today at church on an Allen computer organ, and with the use of the transposer, makes it even easier to play this song.
