Probably the best song that ends with the line "lovely buttocks".

The Oo's 14th UK single - charted at 25

dogs is a classic of history for the who but it should have charted much higher than no.28 . What an insult to a brilliant record.

I think it's safe to say that most of Pete Townshend's creative energy throughout 1968 was spent writing 'Tommy'. The Who had planned to release other albums in the meantime but only a few singles and compilations including the unauthorized 'Magic Bus' album by Decca in the US were released. Another quirky Who song written around the same time as Dogs was Now I'm A Farmer.

What a stupid tune "nothing bigger than beer...", oh Boy; but the voice of Roger Daltrey makes it great to listen to; sometimes I wonder, what he might have achieved, if he had not become a Pop singer, but a serious singer. He was a good actor, anyway, did anybody watch him playing the "two Dromios" in Shakespeare`s "Comedy of Errors"?It`s worth every second, he does a most marvellous Job.

Pete joked they might play this on the 50th tour. I believe it's going to be on the new CD soon to be released.

This song, was minor hit single for The Who in England. Strange it is rarely included in their multiple "Greatest Hits" collections released over the years. It was recorded in 1968 for one of the 4 never released LPs The Who did.

THIS is an awesome song ( Like Melancholia ) ,...great Songwriting parts in it ,... bummer how many songs by the Who turned out to be rarities and not on albums nor ever played Live ,.... the Who's management back in the 60's really blew it A LOT ,..( though they did some good things too ) ,...................

I'm pretty sure I've read PT say this was a nod to the Small Faces and their cheeky chappy east end style :-)

Great song, and a great example of how fantastic Keith Moon was on drums!

I first heard this song when I was in the Navy in Japan in 1968. I actually had purchased the 45. The song has a distinct japanese sound. It may be on a japanese album. You might want to check on ebay for an album.
