People hate on this song because it is so popular. Truly one of the best songs ever written period. Everyone on earth can connect to it.

Certainly a great song. Even if it was copied. But nonetheless just to think that we are now living in a world between the nether and the next has been a great privilege for me, and I am certain for quite a lot of other people too. I cry at our loss to future generations. Wish we had been able to save them from their RFIDs. Freedom Cards, cash free society and transparency.

I would have given iloveKnittings ovaries, her uterus, left breast and a couple of fingers to have written this song. Might even have thrown in a lung.

Anyway, the material is sketchy on this and more information is needed. Does anyone else have more detailed and factual information? If you do, include you references.

A point of FACT. The Rolling Stones did not write this song, nor did they create the cord sequences either. In fact, Keith Richards admitted in the 2003 book According to the Rolling Stones that 'we came up with "The Last Time", which was basically re-adapting a traditional gospel song that had been sung by The Staple Singers." Luckily for the Stones, the Staple Singers Song's copyright had expired and the Stones used it. My point, the Stones sued the Verve for all royalties for this song. Its absurd. Really? For a song they themselves admit they did not creative. If it was not so serious it would be laughable.

What's even worse than The Rolling Stones taking 100% of the writing credit for this is that the song is STILL making a bunch of money. It's been used in numerous commercials and films at probably $50k-$100k a pop, maybe even video games. That would have been a nice income for these lads as they get older and have families to support.

"Your a slave to the money then you die?" So I guess there was no charge to see this concert and not one performer got paid a dime? I guess The Verve allows free downloads of their "music" also.
