I lost count of the number of times i seen the verve back in the day. I won't bore yous. Best/ worst time was when I coached it to wigan. Open air thing, beck supporting. Not sure who else. Anyway, got v drunk. Missed the coach home. Wandered about wigan, scarey place so walked away when pubs got out. any way next morn met a nice gal, showed me the way to a police station. \PHONED MY FOLS, BLAH BLAH. mADE IT HOME TO SHOWER FOR A 12 HOUR SHIFT. tHOSE WERE THE DAYS LOL

thought id put the lyrics to the song up All this talk of gettin' oldIt's gettin' me down my loveLike a cat in a bag, waitin' to drownThis time I'm comin' downAnd I hope you're thinkin' of meAs you lay down on your sideNow the drugs don't workThey just make you worseBut I know I'll see your face againNow the drugs don't workThey just make you worseBut I know I'll see your face againBut I know, I'm on a losin' streak'Cause I passed down my old streetAnd if you wanna show, then just let me knowAnd I'll sing in your ear againNow the drugs don't workThey just make you worseBut I know I'll see your face again'Cause baby, ooh, if Heaven calls, I'm comin' soonJust like you said, you leave my life, I'm better off deadAll this talk of gettin' oldIt's gettin' me down my loveLike a cat in a bag, waitin' to drownThis time I'm comin' downNow the drugs don't workThey just make you worseBut I know I'll see your face again'Cause baby, ooh, if Heaven calls, I'm comin' soonJust like you said, you leave my life, I'm better off deadBut if you wanna show, just let me knowAnd I'll sing in your ear againNow the drugs don't workThey just make you worseBut I know I'll see your face againYeah, I know I'll see your face againYeah, I know I'll see your face againYeah, I know I'll see your face againYeah, I know I'll see your face againNever comin' down, I'm never comin' downNo more, no more, no more, no more, no moreNever comin' down, I'm never comin' downNo more, no more, no more, no more, no moreNever comin' down, I'm never comin' downNo more, no more, no more, no more, no more...

I think this song beautifully marked the end of the drugs scene via acid house and rave music of the 90's.
