When I hear this song, I imagine Cecil leaning back in his chair, sipping coffee, and his mind wanders,, carried away by the soft sonata of the weather. He tilts his head back, inhales the lyrics, and they take him to Carlos. And he imagines how it would feel to hold Carlos' hand, and feel that perfect hair. Somewhere across town, Carlos is at his work bench, and he does the same, sitting up straight to stretch his back out, and he wonders how it would feel to have someone's prescence behind him, running hands over his shoulders and through his hair, releasing the stress from his locks. And for a minute, their daydreams come in sync, and the universe points Carlos to Cecil, and vice versa, and for just an instant they both think, "could he be the one?" And in that same moment, the weather winds to an end, "close enough to lose", the weather tells them, and their brains are unhinge from each other. Cecil leans forward in his chair towards the microphone, and Carlos hunches back over one of the clocks. The romantic daydream is lost, waiting to be found in another weather report.

Just picturing the citizens of Night Vale going through their chaotic lives while the show is running. But as soon as Cecil airs the weather, everyone just...stops. Everyone. Even the mayor, even the hooded figures in the dog park, Tamika Flynn, Carlos, everyone. They all stop, and all of Night Vale listens to this song. And for a few minutes, the only sound is the sound of the weather.
