@billchew450 I didn't think so as I have seen a pic of the Riverias....but this song is one of the most bueatuiful; songs of the pop era. "Canadian Sunset" and "Theme From a Summerplace" are equally as bueatiful and all hail from the doowop era of r&r. Thx4 postin'

What a classic act these guys were. What a make out record Moonlight Serenade is. By the way, this was a big hit for Glen Miller back in the early 40's. And they are NOT the group who did California Sun. The Rivieras who did California Sun are white. The New Jersey Rivieras are black.

08/21/11 .. What ever happened to the Rivieras? .. I understand that they have all died and that there deaths were caused by there life style of hard drinking and drugs, thats what I've been told, true????

this has got to be one of the most bueatiful songs of the pre-pop era, in otherwords this is by no means the original!!!!! I'm not sure who did the original many years back, back before anyone ever heard of the Riverias. I remember the Riverias best for their monster hit "California Sun". Not only was it #1 for a couple of weeks back in 1964, it went on to become the 26th biggest song of that year. songs about California were big in this era, the biggest was "California Dreaming">.

Thanks for the Beautiful Love Ballads, by this Wonderous Group-- from another time, for me... I heard this great Doo Wop Oldies Classic, on the Radio today- and I fell in Love with this Group and the voice of the Lead Singer, and their won- derful Harmonies. Thanks so much, Peace & Best - Marcie B.
