I didn't know Vessie Simmons was the lead singer on this record. I've got a record by her called I Can Make It On My Own. This song was covered in the UK by the Searchers on an EP that was pretty successful at the time. I think I prefer the Ribbons. Regards to your mother from an English soul fan.

Devian, this is one of my favorite "oldies" records. An underrated masterpiece. Is Vessie still with us? Great singer.

ANY consolation for the fanilies & Marshall Leib, this record may be better known than you realize. Several kids from Chicago from "that era" can sing it all through!

This is one of my all time favorite songs. I remember when it was released, I was 12 years old and still listen to it and all of the music of that time period, 50's and 60's, music will rock forever.

The extended play 45 rpm (4 songs on one 45) was very popular in the mid-late 50s. I bought several at the time when I first started collecting records late 1956 when I was 10 yrs old. (my first one was from Elvis' 2nd lp "Elvis" titled "Elvis Vol. 2"). They cost $1.29 while the regular 45's cost 89 cents.

I remember when this song came out. I was 12 years old and loved it. We will never see a decade like the 50's and 60's ever again. It was good times and easy living.

@jrgboy The fact that the buyer had to pay more to buy an EP over the price of a single 45 means that the tune would have probably sold even more had it been available as a regular issue 45! Not bad!
