Dottie, Reba and Buck Rambo compose the gospel trio, The Rambos. Dottie penned most of the songs the group sang. They were very popular in the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's. Many hymnals today include songs written by Dottie. The trio were pacesetters in gospel harmony, inverting harmony as necessity when the melody got too high for the lead singer. This way of singing had not usually been done before The Rambos. Today it is done all the time. "I Call Him Lord" was one of the Rambos most well-known songs.

This perfect harmony was sung in a time before vocal tuning and alignment. It is certainly awesome! Reba was living in the shadow of her mother's greatness. I guess this is her early attempts at getting noticed. She did not need the signing which has become fad. Her voice added to her mother's and Buck's was a symbiotic match. Apart from her mother and dad, she has very little grace in her voice. I use to be in love with her when we were both kids! Now I wonder why! (Don't take it too serious.)

There will never be another Dottie Rambo. No one with her spirit and sensitivity. One of the most anointed singers I have ever heard.

This is a positive comment. Dottie had such beautiful hair. I saw her in person back in 72 at a christian booksellers conference and it was long and hanging in curls. She was richly beautiful and a very elegant lady. Her smile was awsome then and her step light.

This is the Dottie I remember the most! She is so pretty! I remember her playing that big ole guitar. She inspires me I listen to a lot of her music almost everyday.
