The Gift landed in March '82 and the intro track, 'Happy Together' blistered out of the speakers. It was crisp, exciting, energetic and sounded like The Jam meant it! That's why it's next on our top 6 from that year.Again Weller indulges himself in poetic self-analysis with a twist; 'Thought that I was a devil, but I'm an angel waiting for my wings', is a great line. We just love the feel and dynamic of this album opener that made us just want to sit glued to the record player! Weller intended The Gift to reflect their live performance and wanted it to be their best work; apparently he settled for OK! Enjoy this live performance from 1982.The Jam Live - Happy Together (HD)
