From the band's 4th and final appearance on "Shivaree", lip synching the up-tempo classic, "It Won't Be Wrong".

Gene Clark would be gone in less than 3 months, although he joined the band onstage sporadically toward the end of 1966.

Ok, ok; this is included in The Byrds box set, but here we have Gene Weed's Shivaree intro!!

This song is heavily Beatles influenced. All that's missing is the "ooh", "ooh" and "Yeah", "Yeah".

IMHO, this song shows that 370 Rickenbacker better than any other song the original line up ever did. And today, 48 years later, I still do not understand why this wasn't just a monster hit!! The only one possibly better is " Feel A Whole Lot Better ", but I'll still stand by " It Won't Be Wrong". Classic, 60's Rock--I know, I was there. Wolfsky9

This is to me still to this day, THE very finest of the Original Byrds! I never, ever tire of that 370 Rickenbacker, especially because learning to play it was THE hardest thing I ever did!! All-time 60's classic!! Wolfsky9, 66 y/o

On this day in 1966 {February 5th} the Byrds performed "Turn, Turn, Turn" on the NBC-TV program 'Hollywood A Go-Go'... Three months earlier on October 23rd, 1965 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #1 {for 3 weeks} and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100... On the same show they also performed "It Won't Be Wrong"... Exactly one week later on February 12th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #63 and spent 5 weeks on the Top 100...

@jaspurr77 totally agree with this - Gene was great but the Byrds chemistry as a band was what made them so good, while it lasted...

@bauersnarky Roger (then Jim) McGuinn saw George's 12-string Rickenbacker in "Hard Day's Night" at the movies and ran out the next day to order one from his local music store - the rest is rock history !

Wasn't this the B side to Mr. Tambourine Man? Thought I was the only person who liked this song. I always thought it was a great song, not nearly appreciated enough.

This song still gives me chills, just like that Spring of '66, when I 1st heard it--my all-time fave of The Byrds, & thatJingle-Jangle sound of the Rickenbacker 12 string! Wolfsky9 , 64 y/o
