B-side of their 1978 hit single "Take Me I'm Yours".

This song is unusual on at least two counts. Firstly, Jools taking lead vocals on a Difford and Tilbrook penned song and, secondly, it features a saxaphone. I can't think of many Squeeze compositions that have a saxaphone on them. In fact, I can only think of "Hourglass". Are there others?

Harry Kakoulli recorded both of the first two albums and John Bentley appeared as an interloper on the second pressings of the 'Cool for Cats' album sleeve. Never saw Harry live but all accounts of the somersaulting curly bassist suggest he was a big contributor to the stage act

@tygre97 Wow, a concert recording of "Deep Cuts"? Holy smokes, that has to be wild! Let me know if you want the studio recording (I have the remastered box set from a while back)

@spidersister Sorry, "Deep Cuts" is one of the few studio recordings I don't have. It did used to be on YT, uploaded by user kph38 but all his videos have disappeared for some reason. I have a concert recording of the "song" (if you can call it that) but I dread to think what kind of video I'd have to make to go with it!

@spidersister Thanks for the comment. Squeeze seem to have a loyal following in the US and I don't know how many of these b sides are available over there. "Filling in the gaps" is exactly what I wanted to achieve when I started. I hope I'm able to fill in a few more gaps in the future. I'm not sure how many of my videos are still available outside the UK as they appear to be falling foul of YT's regions policy.

Okay, a request: "Deep Cuts" (if you can get away with it!)

tygre97, you're killing me over here! (I mean that in a good way!) Loving these. I just threw out a whole bunch of old tapes w/b-sides (they were barely audible anyway) with the reasoning, "Most of this stuff is on CD now." Which is true, but you're filling in the gaps big time! All my faves! Mwah!

The essence of early Squeeze was when all 3 voices participated. Not even the Beatles with McC, Lennon and Harrison had such distinctive 3 voices like this..Keep up the great work..

Glad you're liking them, it makes all the effort worthwhile. I had thought about including Harri on the credits but it's John who appears in the film. Apart from some old TOTP appearances for Take Me .... I've got no concert footage of Harri. I think I'm right in saying that Harri also played bass on the single version of Cool For Cats but it's John who appears in the official video.

I'm lovin' your work so thank you. You've credited John Bentley on Bass when this was in fact the one and only Harri Kakoulli playing his sunburst precision on this track.

Thanks. One of my preferred Squeeze tracks although it is a bugger to find now I no longer have my vinyl collection.
