B side of their 1978 single "Bang Bang". I'm not sure why this didn't make it on their debut album, it's got a great Difford lyric and is sung with attitude by Tilbrook. The audio is recorded from vinyl and I've left in all the crackles. My favourite part of this is right at the end. You only have to wonder what kind of crowd Squeeze were playing to and whether Jools got any positive answers to his question.

My copy is on black vinyI so I think it more to do with me not looking after my records as I should have done when I was younger.

Was the crackle because of the green vinyl?

Thanks for the comment. That was my first guess, then I thought "the lark" and then "the look" because they rhymed slightly better. Even having slowed it down, played countless times and listened to the BBC Sessions version, I still couldn't make out precisely what he was saying. I'm sure there are other errors in my lyrics but there comes a time when you have to let go otherwise you get, er, all fed up too!

I may be wrong but I think he's joining a rock'n'roll band for the "laugh", or "laughs", rather than the "luck".
