Charted at #92 on Billboard Hot 100 in May 1965. One of my favorite records by this group, and it doesn't hurt that my name is in the title. A classic! Also recorded by Twinkle. Written by Chip Taylor & Ted Daryll. B-side is "Mama Don't Allow".

have listened to 5 of these songs by this group and can only think because of their similar sound to the Shangri La's is why they never hit big as well as they did a lot of coversbut they are a great sound from the 60's!

This is a perfect song. Purest melody. Outstanding harmonies. Spectacular timing. Seamless.

No excuse for this not charting higher than 92 nationally. I remember hearing it on WIBG in Philly. Loved it then, love it even more now. A charming example of girl group pop. Thank you for posting it. And thank you Reparata and the Delrons for making this little gem which has lifted my spirits for almost 50 years. You did more than you could have imagined.

Noised about about for 2 or 3 weeks as the follow-up to Whenever A Teenager Cries in Philadelphia, creeping into the Top 30, but I read it went to # 6 in Louisville, KY. Maybe it had some success in a few other markets, too.

These girls were one of the sexiest girl groups of the 1960s, it's too bad they weren't more popular. The Shangri-Las are the greatest girl group of the '60s, in my opinion. This is a great song that unfortunately didn't get enough airplay.

It was done by Twinkle Ripley, who I believe also wrote the song.

@jamesadrian021957 That's very sad, I'm sorry. I didn't know they put records in bags of potato chips, although I have heard of records included in cereal boxes as a free gift.
