Mazzola said the girls got the name from a teacher they had at Good Shepherd Grammar School in Bklyn. As I recall, she said, "a teacher we really liked". I went to that school in the 60s and I remember that I, along with a number of other guys, were the object of her intense misandry. Sister Reparata was in charge of the choir so it follows that the Delron's musical potential was helped along by this bitter, mean nun. I don't think I ever saw this 'bride of Christ' smile and I can't recall her viciousness ever being manifested on the female students. And I'm not talking about cruel or demeaning words; I'm talking about corporal punishment. She would bang our heads against the wall if our shoes were muddy, yank our sideburns with force for whispering in class. Oh, yea, she was a mean son of a gun.

It's not a version.It's the best version I've ever heard of this song and I've been collecting vinyl for over 55 years.The Chiffons have a good version too,but this beats them all!

I'll tell anyone who wants to time travel that the late 50's until the mid 60's was definitely nirvana with the music......sans the British Invasion which ruined everything along with that "flower power" shit!!

That's because this is an album version by Reparata and the Delrons, as noted in the title. This isn't the original hit version by the Chiffons. I think the playlist title misled you (I didn't make the playlist).
