Charted at #60 on Billboard Hot 100 in January 1965, and released in December 1964. This is one of the great girl group classics, and likely would have been a much bigger hit had it not come along after the British invasion. Reparata and the Delrons are my favorite girl group. They began at a time when the craze for girl groups was winding down and the British invasion had taken hold, so they never really got the recognition they deserved despite releasing several fantastic singles throughout 1964-1969.

This came out about the time I made the mistake of telling my mother that I wanted to be a singer. She just crowed that " all the popular girl singers are * Black *!"I pointed out that the Shangri-Las weren't ,and she got mad.:/Her comment about this song was, " Mamas cry, too." (So?)

Crazy sounds so good, and yet not even top 20. Is it just the we can't get enough nostalgia?

1965 ...lots of girl groups! Not all of them became super successful since the British Invasion was going on then too! This tune reached #60 on the pop charts. Reparata and the Delrons - Whenever A Teenager Cries (1964)

I had the privilege of playing keyboard in a band that backed Nanette Licari of R & the Ds two days ago. she was great! The group lasted into the '70s as a current group, and had hits in the UK in '68 and '70. Nanette was in the group before and after this track and "Tommy" were hits, but was aboard for the rest of their career. This is a great track, of course.

I can't beleive it took till this year for me to discover Reparta and the Delrons. I listened to WABC alot in 1964 to 1968 and never heard these songs. Some of my all time favorite songs. Tommy is great also.

I saw them in '64 or '65 outside of Washington, D.C., in a small venue. The audience danced while they performed! During their breaks, they would dance with the people who paid the admission to get in. I remember dancing with Reparata -- quiite a thrill for a high school junior.

In the metro NYC area it was VERY popular...doubt it made #1 but I am almost certain it was top 10...it got a lot of radio play. I saw them quite a # of yrs ago perform and they were awesome.
