Renaissance before Annie Haslam!

Back on again... in a better quality!... Enjoy! ;-)

Most of you are probably more familiar with the Renaissance group featuring Annie Haslam as main vocalist instead of the original line-up featuring Keith Relf and Jane Relf as front singers...

In between this transitional stage however, Renaissance had seen a succession of personnel and changes in style over a year or so!..

The line-up shown here, only knew a short existence from November till December 1970.

It consisted of:

Terry Crowe ( backing vocals)

Binky Cullom (lead vocals)

Mike Dunford (guitar)

John Tout (keyboards)

Terry Slade (drums)

Neil Korner (bass guitar)

Binky Cullom, eh?I always thought that it was Jane Relf doing all the lead vocals.

Check out this video on YouTube: when Keith Relf's original Renaissance fell apart, a 'transitional' lineup carried on for a brief time. They had their moments too...

Wow why didn't she keep on singing- she's got such a great voice-so much better than Jane Relfs version-which I also like

I assume that Annie Haslam must have sung this song after Binky left. I'd love love to hear that! This may be Jim's best song...

Thank you Jim, for putting up all of these treasures. Many of which I still have the original vinyls of from back then. They so greatly influenced my playing.

The lady is gorgeous and supremely talented. Like someone else said, an alternate universe Renaissance.

Esta es una de las pocas bandas de rock progresivo con voz femenina que me agradan...

I personally believe Jane Relf's version is in a whole different league, and not meaning to be rude or anything, but I also wouldn't say that it's a matter of opinion in this case. In fact, I'm gonna call Jane now to arrange a concert of some of the absolutely mind-blowing songs she used to sing so beautifully :)

I didn't know there was an "in between" lineup for Renaissance. Binky did a good job with the vocals.
