Lyrics & Information

This band was recommended to me by a very good youtube friend of mine 'BlueShark45'. Comes from an excellent 70s album 'Men From Earth'.

Lyrics:-

Where the snow melts

And the shadows bend

Weeping willows dance

And the sea swells

At the river's end

Calling in the trance

And our eyes meet

While the watermill (Eyes meet... Under the)

Turns the stubborn stream (...Watermill)

And my life breaks

On the waterwheel (Life breaks...)

Into a dream (...Into a dream)

When the light fades

And the wind is still

Hear the cricket's rhyme

And the cascades

Of the river spill

Falling out of time

And our eyes meet

While the watermill (Eyes meet under...)

Turns the stubborn stream (...The Watermill)

And my life breaks

On the waterwheel (Life breaks...)

Into a dream (Into a dream)

(Solo)

(Harp Solo)

So the earth turns

Like a paddle-wheel

Secret still in spin

And the sun burns

On a golden field

Where you've always been

And our eyes meet

While the watermill (Eyes meet under...)

Turns the stubborn stream (...The Watermill)

And my life breaks

On the waterwheel (Life breaks...)

Into a dream (...Into a dream)

(Sax solo and end)

Gotta love Supe. that guy is a crack up. Steve Cash, Larry, Buddy, Randy and John Dillon. Great lyrics, tight arrangement and they make it look so easy. One of my favorite OMD tunes.

Randle Chowning... one of the several geniuses behind OMD's ethereal and stunningly beautiful ballads. Listening to virtually any Ozark Mountain Daredevils album was a journey through the entire spectrum of human emotion. With a bit of humor frequently thrown in. Thanks for keeping us all sane guys. Soundtrack of millions of lives.

sbyrne, do you have "Red Plum", from "Men from Earth"? If you do, would you be willing to upload it? I'm shocked to be unable to find it anywhere at all. Thank you very much if you do!

roadkingcowboy, I've been searching everywhere for "Red Plum", too! It isn't anywhere to be found. It's as if it didn't happen. I loved that album. Can anyone help with it?

Thank you for posting. This, like many of my favorite OMD songs, didn't get a lot of play on the radio...but they are such great songs. Watermill, Road to Glory, Whipporwill, Better Days, Someday Darlin' and more. I will never stop enjoying them.
