Their music never gets old. Great band. I had the pleasure to see them in Biloxi, MS. A stand up group of guys.

*It'll Shine When It Shines*The old cat on the roofHe could stand a little push'Cause he's gotNine good lives to liveBut like my mama saidYou only live till you're deadAnd you got to giveAnd give, and giveThere's a pebble in the pondGoing on and onMaking waves and tidesAnd ripples and rainThere's a leaf in the windThat don't know where to endChasing days and waysAnd wishes and dreamsSeems like everyone is outLooking for the sunSinging rain and painOn he who hesitatesBut it'll shine when it shinesYou might think I'm wasting timeBut I'm just a good old boyThat's learned to waitWipperwil's in the dawnPretty soon he'll be goneAnd he's got one good song to singBut like my daddy saidIt's in your heart not your headAnd you've got to singAnd sing, and singThere's a window in the wallLooking out on it allLeaving fears and tearsAnd troubles aloneThere's a fire in the stoveKeeping out the coldWarming wine and wintersAnd babies and homesSeems like everyone is outLooking for the sunSinging rain and painOn he who hesitatesBut it'll shine when it shinesYou might think I'm wasting timeBut I'm just a good old boyThat's learned to waitYes, I'm just a good old boyThat's learned to wait

Despite Supe`s little mistake on bass (maybe he was a bit impatient to get into the chorus) I still love this live version as it shows how sensitive and truly authentic they were (and still are), also live.

Saw them here in their hometown about 6 months ago. Sounded better than ever. This song brought the house down. To Steve, Larry, John, Randall, Soup, Ruel, Kelly, Billy (rip), and all the guys that have come and gone but made the OMDD who they are; thanks for the music and the memories.

I actually saw them live in England at oround this time 1976 on the last of a 3 day country music festival at Wembly. They were the last act of the night finished about 12.30. Had to walk back across London to Kings Cross railway station and wait for milk train to take me home with only a couple of hours sleep to get up and go to work.

I grew up on OMD as well. These guys were what being from the Ozarks and being from the country was all about. This was post Vietnam music that helped everyone learn how to feel good about themselves again. It was okay to smile and have a good time again. It was lovin the Lord, lovin your Momma and learning it was okay to be from the country. It was the beginning of healing for a troubled Nation and it helped us learn to love America again. Thank you for putting this up. It is awesome stuff!!

Brilliant band, saw them live at the hammersmith odeon back around 75-77 . I only went to see the support band splinter , but was blown away by the ozarks.
