If you put the whole thing in context, this album was released in 1979. The guitar work sounds like what Steve Vai and Joe Satriani were 7-10 years later. Kim Mitchell was really advanced as a guitar player. Furthermore, his music was more lyrical and catchy than what the "guitar gods" were making. Plus, Kim was a good singer - dude is way under-rated.
