The big change was when Jonathan Cain joined, not Perry.

Saw Journey at their infancy, performing their first album at the small Starwood in LA, up close and personal. Great gig!

This album is the third of three that changed my musical world. Along with with Jeff Beck's Blow By Blow (#2) and Mahavishinu Orchestra's Birds of Fire (that would be #1), I have never looked back. Life is too good!!

I forgot how great Ansley Dunbar is.

This is so far ahead of it's time, especially in terms of how heavy it is. You can really hear them influencing Dream Theater on this track.

all you people who rip on steve perry...they changed on the 4th album...why...the record company!!!! he was hired to help sell more albums...I agree tremendous prog rockers here...but blame the record company and their manager herbey...not perry..and by the way perry's voice is iconic...you just might not like their direction....

first time, laser light show, Denver . CO. 1974. Bought the album in 1975, jammed ever since. Best of all time musicians—ask Santana!

I remember doing some really good LSD and listening to this back in 1975. This album featured Ainsley Dunbar on percussion. Best drummer ever. Reading some of the other comments concerning the title of the song. You obviously weren't alive at the time. Comet Kohoutek was all the rage at the time. Too bad it fizzled and not a lot of people saw it.

On guitar Daffy Duck. Just joking. Neal Schon is one of the most kick assing guitar players to rack the planet. But this paticular song is like a Bugs Bunny Cartoon. It's fast slow get's going again. Than theres Neal Schon no vocals more music Neal Schon Neal Schon the music is still going. Neal Schon Neal Schon keyboard music than back in the saddle again is Neal Schon. This is Kohoutek. Sound like a name of a wejjie-board. Not Really one of my favs but it's ok.

Aynsley Dunbar's drumming is on fire. No wonder Zappa liked him.
