Astonishing stuff. Right from the start - I though - shit this is a bit special. I was unaware that Mike Heron was such a great bass player and he kicks it in right from the start. Dougie Connor - originally from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.

Licorice had a perfectly Celtic face, much like the actress Gay Hamilton, who played Nora Brady in Barry Lyndon.

@ turningofthetide1000 - what ??? What does the ISB have to do with Steeleye Span? ISB was a 3-man, then 2-man & 1-woman, then 2-man and 2-woman hippie group playing original psych-folk music. Steeleye was created when Hutchings split from Fairport Convention to create a band that played pure English traditional music interpreted through electric instrumentation with rock arrangements. World's apart musically and in their direction.

Never really understood this band. Always thought they were a somewhat inferior take on Steel Eye Span. But that's just my opinion, and I know people like Steve Winwood were fans, so they couldn't have been that bad.

What a duo. Girls great too. FAB song. Absolutely BESOTTED with this for weeks now. Best group ever. They could have been the mst pretentious bunch, but they're NOT. funny really. "If I were a witches hat, sitting on her head like a paraffin stove." Lost solemnity. xxx

Sang this tune to my son as a baby as well......circa 1971. Saw ISB in 1968 and it changed my life. Huge fan all this time.
