Kim Deal and Kim Gordon both deserve infinitely more respect than this hole. They transcend any gender nonsense, but they're worth bringing up since people always call Courtney the "queen of grunge." Courtney is a leech with just enough narcissistic charisma to fake her way through a career, but there's zero depth, zero realness to anything she does. Just a trail of fucked over people in her wake until she successfully used her way to the "top."

I have actually been brought to Courtney's music by watching conspiracy videos about how people think she killed Kurt. Listening to her music and seeing her in interviews made me realize why Kurt loved her and always defended her. It shows how genuine Kurt was by him being drawn to such a strong female partner and also very musically talented like him. He wasn't worried about his girlfriend/wife getting attention and stealing his thunder. He wanted her to do well and for her band to be successful. So many people think she kind of leached onto him when he started to get famous, but I do think they were best friends and equally drawn to one another. I watched a scene in Montage of Heck where Kurt sits on a bed in a dress with lip stick on while lip-syncing to Courtney reading a letter trashing her from one of Kurt's fan who hated Courtney. That alone shows how unique a connection they had and how they were great friends and really got each other. I don't think there was anyone out there at the time (or even now) as warped, into the same music, talented and as intellectual as Kurt who would have been as good of a match for him as Courtney Love. A friend of Kurt's cited that after he started talking to Courtney on the phone, Kurt told him "I've met the coolest girl in the whole world." Even though his life was short and had a tragic ending, he's lucky he found someone who actually understood him and loved him for who he was. So many people never find true love, get married and have a child with the person they're in love with. That would have been the real tragedy. At least Kurt experienced that in his short life.
