Gillian's voice has a very calming effect on me. I'd listen to her sing the phone book. She's a beautiful person and it shows through. I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting her once and she was very quiet and unassuming but very polite and friendly.

I'm sorry, she's a two note pony. Every song - every phrase sounds exactly the same. My friend loves her, I can't run away fast enough. She's obviously a real musician but she's got to be getting sick of it. She probably listens to Jimi Hendrix to undo the yuck.

P.S. I am a guitar player, since I was seven, and I think David's playing is great. What is it you don't like?

I love the way David Rawlings and Gillian Welch sound together. I would not want it any other way. I think their delivery is right on the money every time.

Am I the only one who finds David Rawling's solos and general, all around noodling playing style annoying and a detraction from Gillian's great songs and beautiful voice? Especially interested in fellow guitar players' perspectives.
