Some of you might disagree - but for me this is the best track on the 1973 album I`M A WRITER, NOT A FIGHTER . There`s usually one song that grabs you straight away the first time you hear it , and this song was the one for me. GET DOWN was the big success from this album of course , but for the second single I would have chosen this song instead of OOH BABY . I quite like OOH BABY , but I think this song would have been more successful . A great opportunity missed ! Tell us your opinion ! ( Check the video response - OOH BABY - to see if you agree ! )

I think Ooh Baby was the big mistake. There was so much expectation after a string of hits and Ooh Baby was just okay. Gilbert never even plays it in concert. I agree that If You love Me had of been the follow up to Get down it would have been much more successful. I also think A Friend Of Mine would have been a great follow up release.11 years ago

Yes Barry I kind of agree with you - this song and A FRIEND OF MINE are the best songs on the album and as you say either would have been better than OOH BABY ! I think this song just has the edge . It`s interesting that Gilbert never performs OOH BABY in concert - I`m guessing but maybe it`s not one of his favourites either !14 years ago

Hi Nicole - I know OOH BABY is your favourite so you probably will disagree with what i`m saying ! ( I will forgive you for that ! ) I just think this song has the best lyrics and melody . This is the song I thought would have made a good valentine video for you !14 years ago
