Great song ... about as good as a prog ballad gets.

Love this group. I'm glad I was able to enjoy from the beginning. Also glad I never had to get caught up in "specifics".

Technically Malcolm probably was the better drummer. John had a lot to do with giving Gentle Giant more of a harder rock edge though. If that's what they were looking for at the time?

Not sure if you're bashing Kansas or not, but Kerry Livgren of Kansas is one hell of a composer. There's a lot of GG influence heard in Kansas's music, mostly in the ensemble playing and counterpoint in some songs. I think GG may be all-around better musicians and composers, but it's kind of unfair to compare eclectic prog to symphonic prog. Gentle Giant could have never written "Song for America," and Kansas could have never written "In a Glass House."

Yeah you are right. I have been listening to all my Gentle Giant collection, they are one of the best bands ever, for the contribution they made to music. John Weathers could not have done a better job could he? He is very good. Again thank you all for the feedback. I need to have my reality rebuffed now and again. Helps me be a better person. J5E.

I always thought that Malcolm Mortimer was a better drummer than johnny boy weathers. just not very cool. they should have drawn into his contract that he should be quiet and look good. even though I have played drums for 30 years, he doesn't seem to have a profound presence. So in my somewhat shallow view of things I kind of glossed gg over after" 3 Friends", because of him. I know you guys out there are going to tell me i am full of shit. But....tell me i am wrong.
