Saw Bonamassa at the Mohican Blues Festival in Ohio WAYYY back before he hit it big in the blues genre. He was great back then. But since, he's kinda sold out, and I don't get any pleasure from listening to him anymore. This version is PERFECT.

He sounds so much better on a Gibson than a Strat.

@anveedi Yeah, fingerstyle...and I think he's playing in the old style of thumb-index only...

I pity the other performers on this show that night. How do you top this!

The best version of this classic cover I have seen. Great swinging groove with that great horn section, the best complement to the great guitar chops.

I watched this live on TV in 96 and the hairs on the back of my still come up now whenever I see this clip, it is awesome, he also did Third Degree on the night as well which had the most blistering 2nd solo. All this from just an old fender twin and a beautiful 335, no effects and finger style awesome!!

@scottduncan44 great playing but prefer the joe bonamassaversion for vocals, less detached and more feeling in the singing

Great rendition. He comes real close to the original both in the vocal melody and phrasing and the guitar style. Always nice to have a budget. I attached my version done with no budget or reheasal.

Might as well add that the reason he finger picks this song is that it allows him to pull the stings away from the guitar and they 'snap' back giving that quick fade to the note.
