Saw him play acoustic only in Kansas City July 1978 opening for the Eagles and Linda Ronstadt--used the guitars and pianos of the Eagles as his band was stranded in Colorado. Was my first concert and to date the best I have ever seen

The one and only time I saw Dan play was an acoustic show in Salt Lake City at a venue called the Tower Theatre, maybe 200 seats, it was awesome, was always a huge fan, miss musicians like this.

@pre10der76 That show would have been either the Houston Summit or in The Woodlands. I'm almost 60 so the old brain cells don't work as well as they once did and I hope you forgive me for my memory lapse. I never missed Dan when he was here in Houston and went to Denver to see him one year @ McNichols Arena and to Dallas...just don't remember the dates. I do remember the Denver show was for the Innocent Age tour.

I was there in Houston in 82 and for some reason never heard about this concert so didn't go. Still bummed out! :) I did get to see him later at Erwin Center in Austin Dec. 83 Solo Acoustic. He was awesome!

Of all the footage on this concert, this is probably my favorite, It just doesn't seem possible that this was over 25 yrs ago and this man is no longer with us in body, but will remain with us in spirit. The world feels a little empty, without him in it.

The Phoenix album is the reason I paid attention to Dan's considerable talents. Upon listening to both past and present, all I can say is he could play and sing anything - something I can only say also about Joe Jackson, Linda Ronstadt and Pat Benatar. I now have 3000 CDs, 11 of which are Fogelberg's - and of course the box set.

This concert was in what was then called "The Summit" and is now Lakewood Church. This is the building that Joel Osteen bought and after a year of remodeling became the well known Lakewood Church.

gailgrammaw-lucky you to have seen Dan at this time period!! I have some footage also of this concert--I was wondering if in between songs--did the lights go out after each song?? Did Dan banter with the crowd like he did in other concert excerpts I have seen here?? I know he felt like he was missing his falsetto...

Tim, are we sure this is Houston and not Dallas? It seems he played at the Reunion Arena in Dallas,Feb.13,1982. Can't seem to find anything on Houston of that year.
