Don't expect a super high gain sound, I've heard these preamps are similar to the plexi sound and Paul of Cynic used super hot pickups (the 85 is EMG's hottest model) and probably some form of boost.

The guitar solos sound very Holdsworth-ish. I know AH is one of Paul Masvidal's influences, but I just had to say something. The solos on this record sound really neat and they did a good job w/ these songs. Respect to Masvidal, Gobel, and all members of Cynic.
