and here we have the americans representing with vocals, and some very tight playing, by band members who made there bread an butter, playing midwest, beer bars, possibly with indoor shuffle board and horseshoe sandwiches.

Scrappy and GREAT! Cheap Trick can take any crowd and rip 'em new earholes. For 1979, this was rough, punky goodness. Good on ya, mates!

What is the freakin deal with that audience? Man, they should be rockin their cocks out!! Poor Rick is trying to wake up the crowd. Who spiked the punch?

That's a Fender Bass V Tom is using. Wow! I have only seen JPJ play one. The Waterstone basses are cool. Not as sliky out of the box as the Chandlers, but sweet nonetheless.

I understand from reliable sources, that Tom wanted a signature line that he could make healthy royalties off of, and Hamer did not want to do it. That may be pure fiction, I can't verify it, but his claim the quality of the basses was bad seems a little inacurrate. Waterstone and Chandler could build assembly-line guitars cheaply, Hamer hand makes everything. That's all I know.

what effect in Robin's voice? fast slap back and flange, vibe? slow chorus?

This is just plain awesome RnR at its ffinest.Even at 2:20, when Rick misses the chord change. One of the best American RnR bands ever. Long live the Trick and hope they release this as a DVD soon!

isnt that a jazz?

I believe so. He did not like the quality of most of the basses they made for him and he went from Kids basses to Chandler and now Waterstone who produces a signature 12 string.
