I was a teen growing up in the Midwest in the late 70's/early 80's. Can't imagine a better time musically to be a kid. Cheap Trick toured RELENTLESSLY -- every state fair, every hall any place big or small. Power Pop -- almost as unique of American music as delta blues. It was a style of music I'd rather compared with England's NWOBM than the 80's hair metal bands a few years after this.

I went to that, too! BOC was the "headliner", but EVERYONE was there to see Cheap Trick. The wild thing was that UFO stole the show and blew everyone off the stage.

Saw these guys 20 days earlier than this show, at San Diego "Jack Murphy" stadium. Pat Travers, Cheap Trick, UFO, and Blue Oyster Cult. 5 Aug. 1979. Show didn't end until 1:00 in the morning! Ahh, the good old days. . .
