No, Tom was still in the band then (the date is 24 March 1980). Pete's first show w. CT was likely July 30 '80 in Calgary or August 7th in Winnipeg from what I can gather (although the 6 day gap might indicate missing shows)- I guess Bun E. would have it written down in his archive.

The Class of 2013 for Rock Hall was the weakest to-date in my humble opinion. Cheap Trick deserves it's place but they don't seem to have anyone "campaigning" for them. I'll see them again live in Orlando on 5/10/13 at Hard Rock. 1st time I have seen them since 1998 and once before in 1980. A great MID-WEST AMERICAN BAND!! By the way, when I saw them in 1980 was the day after this concert at Waterbury Palace in Connecticut!!

Yes, he played the Proto-Quad 10 string for a short time in '77. But by '78, it was all 12 string. In this video, Tom is playing a Hamer B12A.
