I HEAR YOU MIKE. THE SAME HAPPENED TO ME. EVERY TIME I HEAR JOHNNY (RIP) SING THIS SONG IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES. BUT, I KNOW I MARRIED THE RIGHT LADY FOR OVER 40 YEARS NOT THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY.

Johnny Maestro ! I Saw the BB in Maryland at a little JC for a couple of hours one afternoon in 1979; I was a total Led Zeppelin fan then, but the BB broadened ny nusical perspective Johnny was one of the great voices of that era, and the band was terrific.

I well recall this song, way back then. I sang these words cuz I lost maybe the one. I maybe could have had her, but I didn't. I heard this on the radio as I was driving to their wedding...I was invited. It was hard. She and he are still married some 40 years later...and I was married and then divorced..not my idea..the latter. Oh, if....

I am now in this situation. It isn't fair I feel this way, but it is what I feel.Kind of a more active "It don't matter to me" -- the heart leads but the brain makes the decisions. The sadness and regrets just are,Just damn.

Wonderful song and great chords to play. The acoustic quality is very good and I liked the arrangement (and I think Johnny did too).I saw them live when they played on the World Trade Center plaza in the early 1990s.

Johnny Maestro visited before at # 2975 and # 2917 and he visits again but with a different group which is most properly called the Brooklyn Bridge, or Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, with a lament about a former girl friend. At # 2853, "The Worst That Could Happen".

On this day in 1969 {January 26th} "Worst That Could Happen" by the Brooklyn Bridge peaked at #3 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart...The two weeks it was at #3 the records at #1 and #2 remained the same for both those weeks; #1 was "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and the Shondells and #2 was "Everyday People" by Sly and the Family Stone...
