Track 01 off of 99 Songs of Revolution, Volume I. Streetlight Manifesto's cover of Birds Flying Away by Mason Jennings.

Lyrics:

I left my country when i was nineteen

1925

And drifted to a town on the Cuban coast

Met a woman who became my life

And oh when i saw her

Darkness fled from me

And flew like a blackbird into the sun

On the day she married me

Dear god

Dear god

I remember climbing up those shoulders

Coming up under you like a lion

Coming down like we were dying

Dear god

But now the drumbirds come for me

Oh now the drumbirds come for me

Lord give me forgiveness

For all that i've done

Forgive me now of the weight i bear

Don't keep me on the run

Dear god

Dear god

I remember climbing up those shoulders

Coming up under you like a lion

Coming down like we were dying

Dear god

Yeah, I have no idea why Julio was the single they chose to release...I don't like it at all and I hate Punk Rock Girl. This + Skyscraper + Linoleum + Hell are the ones that I love.

I love all of it up until the horns come in. I'm kind of in an acoustic phase and I just wish it would switch to the Mason Jennings version before the horns.

Oh, I also saw the grave for WIllie, the guy from The Troubadour. Such Great Heights is by The Postal Service, hence the mailbox. Me and Julio mentions being on the cover of Newsweek, hence the Newsweek dispenser.

Also, the music video for "Just" is all about a guy laying in the middle of the sidewalk.

I think the opposite. Compare this to the original... aw fuck it the entire album is just covers of songs that are better than the originals

Oh please. Tomas Kalnoky would turn Friday into an epic horn-rich masterpiece of sex and ska-punk. He would milk that song of all it's worth and Jackson Pollock it all over people's ears. He could make paint drying interesting.

@HellaLaughs901 that would be extremely hard 'cause making rebecca black sound good is next to impossible :/
