I discovered this song, years ago, by listening to Jeff Buckley. He use to cover it frequently in his live shows. I knew of Big Star because they were a huge influence on two of my all time favorite bands : The Replacements and R.E.M.

More cowbell! I'm saying right here that he had a huge laugh making this song, which sounds fantastic and make me laugh out loud when the bells kicked in. So many things going on here. Bravo. Big Star, mystery of the universe. Got this on order, must own this.

This song has a similar groove to John Martyn's "All For The Love Of You." Both recorded/written around the same time.

This song always sounds like it's about to collapse in a giant heap at any moment, but just manages to hold itself together. art standing on the precipice .....

Thank you so much for posting this. I actually first heard This Mortal Coil's cover, but this is so much more haunting. I love, love, love this.
