Certainly sounds like he was the Cosmos, Ive been playing it over and over again. Sublime. Its like going camping for a fortnight and going home to your own bed with a big fat pillow. Beautiful. Shame he didn't make it to see just how astounded some people are to hear his music..yeah yeah yeah. Anyway he lives on forever with this and thats all you can ask for as an artist. Ridiculously good.

I'm really baffled as to why Chris Bell isn't mentioned as much as he should be in the annals (teehee) of music. I'm not a huge fan of the Big Star albums, but it's clear he was THE sound of the first album. And his solo stuff had as much or even more ambient beauty as that album. He certainly was a tortured soul and he conveyed that in the painful beauty of his original work. Such a sad story. I gravitate to such stories, especially if there is amazing talent and deep lyrical content and composition along with it, which he clearly had.
