One of my favorite songs by Andy Partridge. I think this song is very well arranged, and I can never stop listening to it. I think Andy Partridge wrote this about his divorce.

I love every moment of this song. I wish I knew a band going now that could come close to this kind of magic...

Absolutely beautifully written. Anyone else want to strike down the newly crowned monarch of misery?

I read somewhere that they used a Roland MSQ-100 to sequence the string parts. (Pretty sure this is correct 'cause i ended up buying one off of eBay later on when i saw one going for a cheap price. :) )Gorgeous song! Reminds me of Bernard Herrmann's string parts and perhaps The Beatles' George Martin as well (who was influenced by Herrmann.)

As an American, the only thing I want to know is how did you, XTC, know how Stravinsky thought the blues should sound like? If I could, I would hold up a thousand U.S. President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho middle fingers in respect to you, XTC, all of the good citizens of Swindon and the United Kingdom. Good Day!

This song makes it obvious to me that Elliott Smith was influenced by this band in a big...especially in regards to the vocal delivery, and the Beatles-esque music. Amazing song.

Just watched an excellent interview with DG about his time with XTC and how he arranged his strings! Whilst all the chaos of Todd and Andy was going on, Dave was having the time of his life! :D

@uploader: I don't think he was divorced when he wrote this. That came quite a bit later.
